5/10 – Good is not great.
M&S is an expensive place to shop for food. However the quality does usually justify the cost, so expectations were high for this one. Taste is ok, but let’s focus on the pastry. I always de-foil before eating a Mince Pie, retaining said garment as a crumb collection aid. They have fucked the measurements on this shit and removing this foil is a pain. The rim of pastry crust engulfs the top of of the foil tray in a way that hampers the purchase your fingers get on this.
Once you’re in, things get better. This is a good pie at heart but i’m not even going to carry on with the review because it doesn’t deserve it.
Go back to making shortbread biscuit variety boxes, you amateurs.
